The recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission will be implemented by Madhya Pradesh Government with effect from January 2006.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared that the state government employees are entitled to get the benefits of the Pay Commission's recommendations with effect from January 1, 2006.

According to an official statement, such recommendations will benefit around 500,000 state government employees. While the mode of payment for benefits from Jan 1, 2006, to Aug 31, 2008, is yet to be decided by the government, the benefits from Sep 1, 2008, to Feb 28, 2009, will be disbursed with the salary payable on coming April 1.

Chouhan further went on to say that the arrears for the period from 1st Sept, 2008 to 28th Feb, 2009, would be paid in April 2009 itself. The official statement declared that the decision is certainly helpful for around three lakh (300,000) pensioners. There will be a proportionate increase in salaries of government school teachers and panchayat secretaries from April 1, 2009.
